Marc Tayler brings over 27 years of experience in education, including 25 years as a classroom teacher and administrator in primary grades, and the last 2 years in college admissions. He began his career in Colorado, USA, where he focused on bringing cultural enrichment to a rural community. Through programs such as Taiko drumming and African storytelling, he sparked students’ curiosity about the world beyond their immediate surroundings. A strong believer in project-based learning, Marc recognized early on that young learners thrive when given opportunities to engage actively rather than remain seated for extended periods.

His international journey took him to Ireland, where he supported early literacy development with younger students. He later moved to Qatar, where he gained valuable experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework and its integrated, theme-based approach to learning across subjects. His final international posting was in Panama, where he worked closely with families from across Central and South America. These global experiences exposed him to diverse cultures, languages, beliefs, and perspectives that continue to shape his educational philosophy.

Marc is honored to join the AIOA Board. He is deeply aligned with AIOA’s mission to open students’ minds and foster critical thinking by encouraging the exchange of perspectives—something he believes is often limited in traditional classroom settings. In an increasingly interconnected world, it is important for students to develop a global perspective. At AIOA International, we encourage our students to be responsible and engaged global citizens.
